At Westlawn Preschool we acknowledge the Bundjalung nation.
We encourage children to participate in a simple acknowledgement daily and foster a strong connection to country:
"We touch the sky of the Bundjalung people,
we touch the ground of the Bundjalung people,
we touch the hearts of the Bundjalung people
and we say thank you."
We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
Westlawn Preschool provides community based, not-for-profit, Early Childhood Education. We cater to children aged 3 to 5 years regardless of ability, culture or beliefs.
Our Vision is to create a welcoming, warm, caring and inclusive environment where children are guided positively to play, develop, learn and grow to their full potential. Where families can feel respected, supported and valued.
Our Philosophy is centred on our belief that every child is unique and should be encouraged and supported to explore their individual needs, interests and identity. We see partnerships with families as vitally important to a child's social, emotional and cognitive learning and development. Nature, sustainability and cultural diversity are embraced and actively encouraged and acknowledged. We believe it is vitally important to educate children to acknowledge and respect our Local Gumbaynggirr and Bundjalung Cultures where we work, live and play.
Westlawn Preschool’s Mission is to partner with children, families and the broader community to work collaboratively to shape each child’s future. To foster children’s wellbeing and learning in a welcoming, positive, inclusive, sustainable and culturally respectful environment.
